So I've decided that my blog needs a theme.

Books.Books.Books =)

Books or movies?

" 'Why did you call him Tortoise, if he wasn't one? Alice asked.' "
" 'We called him Tortoise because he taught us,' said the Mock Turtle angrily: 'really you are very dull!' "

This part of the book made me laugh =) There are lots of odd things said in this book.
That's what Alice in Wonderland is. Odd.
But it was odd in the way that made me smile while I was reading it and that's something I find really important in books.

It was a lot shorter than I expected it to be and some parts did confuse me, but that just meant I had to think a little harder about what I was reading. There is a letter to the reader at the end written by Lewis Carroll (the author). This letter shows his creativity, but definitely doesn't make him seem any less strange!

I liked this book and I will read the sequel at some point.. "Through the Looking Glass".

  1. Carroll's attempt to show how children view the adult world: rules, rules and more rules! Did you know the book is over 150 years old? One of my favourite bits is this:

    "See all the trouble you started?"(March Hare)

    "But I didn't think-" (Alice)

    "That's just it. If you don't think, then you shouldn't talk. " (March Hare)

  2. I think that maybe "Alice in Wonderland" is synonymous with 'Alice is High'

  3. Two fullstops (otherwise known as periods) were hardly necessary for that post.

  5. Well, I would say the old phrase
    "Yoi're only human" but google seems to disagree.

  6. Hate is a rather strong word, I believe that you might have mistaken it for other diluted synonyms such as 'dislike' or 'detest'?

  7. Hate may be a strong word, but it is also the right word.

  8. Right is a matter of perspective, and there is no diffinitive scale for delineating variation of the 'good'.

  11. Fail intellectual show-off is fail.

    Jordan, you interrupted our heated discussion.

    Are you even Jordan? Or Sam masquerading as him?

  12. In regards to Gianluca's comment "Fail intellectual comment is fail" it is a circular arguement leading to an infinite regress and is therefore redundant, I believe you may have meant "Isaac has not displayed a great deal of intellect in the above comment" which is of course wrong in its own regard as the fact that you didn't understand it is just a small proof towards the fact that it is intellectual.

  13. No. I meant, you fail at beng intellectual, because no-one cares.

  14. I started this discussion, get off my lawn.

    The discussion ended after computing yesterday, I re-started it today, therefore I win, and you lose.

  15. The fact that you have replied to this post, time and time again, proves that someone, namely you, cares about what i have to say, given that you are taking the time ot read and reply to it.

  17. That was actually the last two words.
    And now it's not last at all.

    This is-----> Bye!

  18. Also, even if Gianluca's post was the last two words, maybe he was refering to the word 'word' in which case it was the last word until it was interupted by you, and also, 'bye' isnt the last word either, considering there is now two posts (as of the time of posting) after that word, so until replaced by a new word, the last word will be giant-enemy-crab
